Meet Yulia Liem

When did you start working at Bunt & Associates?

I started at Bunt in 2003 as an intern. In 2004, I was hired as a full-time employee.

What do you like about working at Bunt & Associates?

The variety of work we are exposed to, from small to big projects; and the people I work with internally at Bunt and externally, our clients.

What do you like most about transportation planning and engineering?

I like the ability to shape cities with good transportation design in order to help people move around comfortably using any mode of transportation.

What is your top skill?

My top technical skill is design – whether it’s loading, road, a parkade or transit facility – while also ensuring that the design is functional and easy to navigate once it’s built.

What are you most passionate about when it comes to your career?

I like to bring my best forward while keeping in mind that I wouldn’t be where I am without the support of those I work with.

Any recent achievements?

I was recently appointed as a Principal at Bunt & Associates. It is an honour for me. I feel proud when I reflect that I had started my career with Bunt as a fresh graduate, recently arrived in Canada with no Canadian work experience. Today, I play a leadership role in the company.

What animal would you choose to be and why?

A bird so that I could fly everywhere and see the beauty of the world.
