ITE Southern Alberta Luncheon: A look into the development of the Town of Peace River’s Active Transportation Plan

Bunt was pleased to sponsor the ITE Southern Alberta January Luncheon, held in Calgary on January 23.

Erin Tattrie, Transportation Technologist at Bunt, provided an overview of the Town of Peace River’s current network and development of the Active Transportation Plan. Bunt’s work on this project started in November 2022 with a 3-day visit to Peace River where the Town staff and our Senior Transportation Planners, Tyler Thomson and Jason Potter, identified opportunities for improving the multimodal transportation network. Tyler and Jason were supported by Erin throughout the project, serving as the technical lead responsible for developing the network maps, project prioritization, and the overall plan. Speaking to the development of the plan since 2022, Erin shared with attendees how it provides guidance on how to prioritize, design, and manage active transportation networks and supportive infrastructure overtime.

Building sustainable communities is part of Bunt’s DNA, and it’s one of the reasons that our active transportation portfolio is growing. We look forward to sharing more about our projects at future events.
